Squatting problem stirs up lawmakers…
The assemblyman actually responded to my email about the problems with his bill. His heart is in the right direction. However, his bill won’t have any effect on the squatters AND it’s going to make everyone’s life miserable in requiring property management companies to notarize leases. 95% of the squatters don’t have leases and the ones that do have leases will be clever enough to produce a notarized lease. We are hoping this bill gets killed off.

Shortage of affordable housing is worst in the country…
Huh? This article makes no sense. There are thousands of available low income units available. Sadly 95% of the applicants have drug or alcohol problems. 90% of those 90% are folks who are subsidized by the government. Whenever we have a low income vacancy, we get overwhelmed with people who have no job, an eviction record and/or subsidized by the government. This is the main reason we are getting out of the low income multi family management business.
